Donna Durno has been elected to a one-year term as the chairperson of the board for the Philadelphia-based Middle States Association Commission on Secondary Schools, an organization that accredits public, non-public, and charter schools in the Middle Atlantic states. Ms. Durno is the executive director of the Homestead, Pa.-based Allegheny Intermediate Unit, an organization commissioned by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to oversee 42 school districts in Allegheny County.
